Anne-Sophie Pic Guest Chef for Air France First Class

Anne-Sophie Pic- the only French chef to possess three Michelin stars- has created new, original dishes for Air France’s First Class customers in the months of August and September.

The celebrated chef has put together a starter and five hot dishes to offer those travelling in the La Premiere cabin a unique 5* dining experience in the sky. Available on flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle and across the entire long-haul network, the recipes combine powerful flavours and delicate aromas.

Through August and September, passengers will be served a creamy cucumber starter to begin the meal service. In August the mains will include a beef chuck steak ravioli and foie gras consommé, half-baked lobster with celery and free-range chicken with chutney and peppered dates.

Next month, in September, customers will be able to choose between a lightly-cooked langostine with sweet spices and a sole spiral with chard ravioli.

The introduction of these special meals is part of Air France’s commitment to exclusivity and promoting French savoir-faire throughout the world. Since 2009 the airline has been working with the Servair Culinary Studio, led by Joël Robuchon, and regularly welcomes guest chefs such as Anne-Sophie Pic.

Pic obtained her third Michelin star in 2007 and also received the title of Best Female Chef in the World in 2011. Despite growing up in a family of chefs, she decided to go to business school to train in management but ended up being tempted back to her passion for food. At the age of 23, she returned to her family restaurant ‘Maison Pic’ where trained under her father.

Anne-Sophie Pic is currently the head of a culinary empire which includes ‘Restaurant Anne Sophie-Pic’ inside the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne, Switzerland; the Dame de Pic restaurant in Paris, a 5-star hotel, the bistro 7, a delicatessen, Scook, a cookery school and Daily Pic, a gourmet cafeteria in Valencia.

In addition to offering gourmet cuisine, Air France launched its new La Premiere cabin in January of this year, with a 77cm-wide seat that converts into a fully flat bed, which includes a futon mattress, a large pillow and a fluffy duvet by Sofitel My Bed. Passengers also benefit from a personal coat service, numerous storage areas for belongings, a bedside reading lamp and an ottoman that can seat a travelling companion.
