Delta Operates First A350 Flight to Tokyo

Delta’s first ever A350 flight landed in Tokyo last week. The A350 features 32 Delta One suites and is known for offering an improved passenger experience, with better air quality and reduced cabin noise. 

Upon arrival at Tokyo Narita International Airport, the state-of-the-art A350 was welcomed by a water cannon salute and drew in a large audience who came to witness its arrival. Delta hosted a special event with passengers, reporters and employees, serving drinks and mini cupcakes to the crowd while they enjoyed live music provided by a string quartet. Within three hours the aircraft was ready to take-off and return to Detroit. 

Passengers received A350 postcards and first flight certificates while boarding, along with special welcome packs when they reached their seats, which included A350 first flyer pins, notebooks and pens, as well as gifts from TUMI and Westin.

The aircraft features the airline's award-winning Delta One Suites, which feature full-height doors for enhanced privacy and comfort. Each suite features fully flat-bed seat with direct aisle access, an 18-inch personal entertainment screen and dedicated stowage for personal items such as shoes, headphones and laptops. Business Class passengers receive hard-case TUMI amenity kits, which contains travel essentials including Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 and grapefruit-scented Deluxe Hand and Body Lotion with Aloe Vera and Oatmeal. 

The aircraft is equipped with high-speed 2Ku internet connectivity and customers will have access to free mobile messaging while on board through iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
