Delta's Refreshed 777-200ER Takes to the Skies

Delta's first refreshed 777-200ER took to the skies on the airline's Detroit (DTW) to Beijing (PEK) route yesterday Jul7 2nd. The airline is conducting a full-fleet interior renovation of its 777 aircraft as part of Delta's multi-billion dollar investment into the overall customer experience. 

Delta's 777-200ERs will all feature 296 seats in total, including 28 award-winning Delta One Suites, 48 Delta Premium Select seats and 220 Main Cabin seats. 

Delta's award-winning Delta One Business Class suites offer each customer a private space accessed by a full-height sliding door. The suites also feature thoughtfully designed personal stowage areas, an advanced in-flight entertainment system, and premium trim and finishes to create a comfortable, residential feel.

Recent upgrades to the Delta One in-flight experience include new Delta One menus curated by Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo for flights from LAX, refreshed TUMI amenity kits with Kiehl's products, and an Alessi-designed collection of servicewear.

Delta's retrofitted Main Cabin seats are 18.5" wide - the widest of Delta's international fleet - and are equipped with personal power ports and complimentary premium entertainment on individual seatback screens. The cabin is also laid out with 9-abreast seating versus the industry norm of 10 across. 

The entire aircraft is equipped with Gogo Ku Wi-Fi connectivity and customers will have access to free mobile messaging while on board through iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. The aircraft is also fitted with full-spectrum LED ambient lighting with customized lighting schemes depending on phase of flight. 

Delta's first refreshed 777 will operate the Detroit and Beijing route on alternating days for the month of July only, filling in for the A350. All eight of Delta's 777-200ER and all 10 777-200LR aircraft will be retrofitted by the end of 2019.
