Oman Air Unveils New First Class Suite

Oman Air has unveiled its new First Class Mini Suite at Arabian Travel Market, one of the world's largest travel and tourism events. The new Mini Suite will be featured on the airline's 787-9 Dreamliner fleet and is equipped with one of the longest lie-flat seats available on any commercial airliner.

Media and trade guests were invited to experience the Mini Suite first hand at the Oman Air stand on Sunday April 22nd. First Class guests will be now be able to experience unparalleled levels of luxury, with a suite that includes an electronically controlled privacy divider,  à la carte dining and a chilled in-suite minibar.

Each suite is fully enclosed, with extra tall doors to ensure maximum privacy. The seat has a pitch of 82 inches and measures 23 inches wide between the armrests, reclining into a fully flat bed that measures 76 inches long and 30 inches wide. The backrest, seat bottom, leg rest and lumbar support can be electronically controlled by a touch screen interface.

First Class guests can watch entertainment on a large 22-inch Gen. V Video Screen Monitor accompanied by the latest touch screen handset and for charging electronics, there's a PC power outlet as well as two high power USB ports. 

Other features include a dedicated wardrobe, headset compartment, dedicated stowage for cabin-approved baggage, reading and mood lighting, and a Do Not Disturb light which is touch screen controlled. An ottoman belted seat also means passengers can invite their travel companions to dine or chat during the flight. 

The new suite was introduced by HE Maitha Al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary, Oman Ministry of Tourism, who said:

We want visitors to our country to experience the very best of Oman culture from the moment they board our aircraft and travelling with Oman Air, in all classes, offers a real flavour of Omani warmth and hospitality.”

No information has been revealed as to when the seat will enter into service. Oman Air is currently undergoing an exciting fleet and network expansion programme, which will see the airline operate up to 70 aircraft to around 60 destinations by 2022.
