Qantas Flies Dreamliner to Hong Kong

As Qantas has announced that Hong Kong will be the next destination for its 787-9 Dreamliner. The airline will  introduce the the Dreamliner on flights from Brisbane to Hong Kong on 19th December 2018; Melbourne to Hong Kong between 13th December 2018 and 29th March 2019; and Sydney to Hong Kong from 30th March 2019. 

Passengers will be able to experience the Dreamliner's next generation Business Class cabin, which features a contemporary, toned-down colour scheme and 42 seats arranged in a 1-2-1 seating configuration. Business Class Suites, which have been dubbed "mini First Class" by some passengers, have ample room for working and relaxing, as well as direct aisle access and privacy dividers between the middle seats. Each seat converts into a 2 metre-long bed and comes equipped with a 16-inch entertainment screen plus easily accessible AC, USB and headphone sockets. 

Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco are already served by the Qantas Dreamliner and the airline's new Hong Kong route has been timed with the arrival of the airline's eighth Dreamliner.  

Qantas International CEO Alison Webster said:

“Introducing the Dreamliner to Hong Kong reinforces our commitment to Asia, where we are seeing strong demand from premium travellers.

“The customer response to the Dreamliner has been overwhelmingly positive. Feedback on the cabin environment, from the seats to the anti-jetlag measures, is fantastic. It’s an aircraft people really enjoy flying on.

“The combination of our 787, A330 and A380 aircraft operating between Australia and Hong Kong over the peak season will see customers enjoy a premium inflight experience on every flight.”

Qantas also announced it will bring forward the upgrade of one of its two daily Sydney-Hong Kong flights to December. The airline will replace its 747 with an A380 aircraft, offering four cabins including First Class through to the end of March 2019.
