World's First Boeing 787-10 To Serve Osaka

Singapore Airlines (SIA), the world's first airline to operate the new Boeing 787-10, has announced that Osaka will be the first scheduled destination served by this new aircraft. Flights are expected to commence in May 2018.

Singapore Airlines has a total of 49 Boeing 787-10s on firm order, with the first aircraft due for delivery from Boeing’s South Carolina production facility in March 2018.

Before entering regular service to Osaka, the first 787-10s will be operated on selected flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur for crew training services. 

Passengers will be able to experience SIA's highly-anticipated new regional cabin products on the 787-10s, which is fitted with 337 seats in two classes, including 36 seats in Business Class. Details of the new cabin products have yet to be revealed, but the carrier says more information will be made available at a later date. 

Singapore Airlines Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Mr Tan Kai Ping, said:

Travellers will already be familiar with the 787 Dreamliner planes, which are constructed using technologically advanced lightweight composite materials and are known for their large, dimmable windows. Measuring 68 metres in length, the new 787-10 is the longest variant of Boeing’s Dreamliner range.
